I went to work and slept on the couch later . Her voice broke the silence of room.

"Where am I?" her voice came out in a whisper, barely audible in the stillness of the night.

I turned towards her, my eyes filled with a mixture of concern and curiosity. "You're safe," I replied, with gentle voice , making her comfortable.

Her eyes fluttered open to the soft glow of candlelight illuminating the room.

She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, causing her to fall back against the cushions. I approached her and made her sit comfortably , saying " You need to rest" . I also sat on the edge of bed beside her .

I saw her exhausted face and offered her a glass of water. She hurriedly grabbed the glass from my hand and drank the water in one go , as if she was very thirsty.

She looked into my eyes ,and  after a moment I felt her face against my chest and her arms wrapped around my torso , my heartbeat had become so fast that my whole body could feel it ,and with in a seconds she broke into tears in my arms .

I got confused and my mind couldn't load it , did she just hug me?

I have no idea why she was sobbing, but I couldn't bear to watch her cry . Seeing her in such a condition, I understood that she needed strong support and I also embraced her.

After few minutes she took her face away from my chest , lifting her gaze, she looked at me with teary eyes , saying" Please do not give me over to them again. pleas....don't ..I.I. Please, I do not want to go there again. She cried.

I hugged her securely in my arms and said , "No one is taking you anywhere and I will not let you go away from me." I said encouraging her.

I don't know why I said this , but yes I wanted to make her feel safe .

Maybe she saw a bad dream , I caressed her hair lovingly and calm her down. I wiped her tears tenderly ,assuring her that she is safe.

"What's your name ?" I asked her in soft voice , making her feel relaxed .

She took a deep breath , looked into my eyes and replied " Vri..vrinda." and I nodded.

And after few minutes , breaking the silence of room , I said "Now you should eat something". I picked up the food kept on the side table in my hands and fed her the food with my own hands, and she silently ate it all like a baby.

Yes, I knew she'd been hungry for a long time.

After swiftly finishing her meal, she looked at me, but something drew her eye behind me. I felt like someone was standing behind me. I glanced behind me and saw..Rahul!

"The thing I saw just now..is it true? Is this indeed you? I've never seen you talk to someone with such affection before today," he added, widening his eyes in amazement and shock .

I rolled my eyes and whispered " oh god not this again."

"Have you really brought this lovely sister-in-law for me?" he said  excitingly .I believed you'd be single all your life, but.....

Rahul! I yelled in strict tone cutting him off . His words made me feel embarrassed in front of her.

After telling her to rest, I held Rahul's hand and took him away from there and told him the whole story .

"But brother, I can tell with guarantee that even if someone is dying in front of you, you will not even ask him for water and you brought this girl straight to the home...There is something fishy "he stated teasing me .

"Rahul, did you have any work?" I questioned, disregarding his foolish statements.

"Yes, brother, I came to discuss that have you thought about who will represent our company this time , our model is injured? ," he asked.

"All I can say is that her hands and legs have not been injured due to any accident; rather, her brain has been injured by someone's provocative words." I smirked offering him the clarification of my words.

"You mean Dadi ?"he asked.

I raised my eyebrows , giving him YES sign.

He smirked and said " I understood my mission bhai "and I nodded.

After this convo, he started to leave and walked a few steps, but later, he stopped and pondered about something before turning and returning to me.

He came to me and said "Brother, why don't we offer that opportunity to this girl ?" he asked.

"You mean Vrinda? Damn, she's hurt; she won't do this "I replied , abruptly shaking my head in no.

"Okay, brother, there is no point arguing with you, your gaze is enough." he said and left.

Vrinda's Pov

I had a really horrible dream in which the people of my village caught me and took me with them that I couldn't stop myself from bursting into tears.

Whenever I had to weep like this , I would embrace Tara and cry, but there was no one here. That's why I couldn't stop myself from hugging him.

I thought he is quite bad, but I was mistaken; he is a decent man.

"Vrindaa don't put too much trust in anyone. Maybe he's bad.

Didn't you see how he yelled at the boy?. I still didn't understand his nature. He was chatting to me affectionately, and as soon as the boy arrived, he went back to his usual mode. May be sometimes he is harsh, sometimes he is adorable but regardless his rude behaviour ,he has taken care of me,  he even fed me with his hands as I didn't have that much strength,....I should thank him." I whispered to myself .

I stood up from the bed and looked around and was amazed to see his room "His room is very luxurious, so how luxurious will the house be? I think he is very rich.

I was shocked to see my state in the mirror. My clothes were torn, and there was dirt on my hair and body from walking through the jungle.

I picked up the towel that was nearby and began cleaning the dirt off myself with it.

After cleaning myself, I looked in the mirror and was startled to see him standing behind me. I turned to him and muttered being scared , "Oh no, I soiled his towel, Vrinda ab to tu gai ."

He started moving his steps towards me, There were no expressions on his face, He was just looking into my eyes and was slowly taking steps towards me.

Being afraid of him, I also started moving backwards.

Due to table behind me , I couldn't take a step back, causing me to bump into it. He got extremely near to me, and our fronts were pressed against each other.

His  dark eyes were enough to get my soul out of me , I stammered and said, I....I will wash your towel and return it to you.

He didn't replied, but brought his face close to my ear and whispered, "Will you move to the side, I want my phone."

"S..Sure" I replied turning to the side, the mixture of awkwardness and embarrassment could be clearly seen on my face.

He grabbed his mobile phone from table and took few steps , scrolling something in his phone .It seemed as if he was checking something very important on his phone.

"Thankyou for everything but I should leave now " , I said and he lifted his gaze from his phone to me and furrowed his eyebrows..like I said something wrong.

He came to me and asked " And where will you go?"mmmm"I don't know " I said , thinking that where will I actually go?

"Where do you live, and what were you doing in the forest?' He asked taking one more step closer to me .

"Actually, I am an orphan and have been alone since childhood; I just live here nearby and do a small job," I answered, sucking the truth...it would be best if I don't tell anyone the truth.

"I should go to my home now" I said, bringing a forced smile on my face so that he shouldn't know the truth.

"Oh Vrinda, don't make the situation awkward, act natural".

"Hmm , Can you tell me where you work?" he asked .

I paused for a moment and took deep breathe before lying "You know, that Aalasa, multinational company, where everyone wants to work? I work there."I told him , showing him the fake attitude of being an employee at Aalasa .

"Vrinda, you are such a fake person, god will never forgive you!" I mumbled to myself.

Hearing me , he smirked and furrowed his eyebrows like he knows that I was lying " But there is no girl named Vrinda in the employee list of my company." he taunted , giving me YOU LOST expression .

"What do you mean, why?.. my company ?you are the owner of that company?"I added with the mixture of embarrassment  and amaze and before I could utter another word, he pinned me to the wall and locked me in his arms and said "This was the first time that I found someone lying this cute, but I don't like lies, so don't lie to me next time.

Next time? I said..

"I think we're parting ways now only,right? I'm leaving this place right now! "

How can I even stay with a stranger, I don't know anything about this guy... And a part of me don't want to disturb him too, even though I kind of feel relaxed around him.

"Do you know what time is it ? it is not

safe for you to go out of the house so late at night." he said
